An exploration of material by melting layers of
synthetic felt that eventually heat shrinks over a mold. This
investigation of felt lead me to use rocks as a natural mold. The rocks
are visually moody, where every texture and color you would see on a
normal rock is amplified, almost in the same way as what an infrared
sensor would see. The colors suggest a volatile movement of emotion that
breathes life into this sitting object.
Inspired from a previous project where I investigated origami and the material of wool felt by ironing to make geometric shapes. I continue this exploration, integrating light and movement within the material with pattern. This lamp can be flat packed with no assembly required, and is eco-friendly and flame retardant.
